January 2019 Update

On behalf of our Board of Directors, we want to thank you for your faithful support of AROAD throughout the year.  This past year has been filled with many challenges as well as blessings. Please allow us to share this with you as one of our essential ministry partners:  First, our 2018 annual AROAD Fundraiser was a tremendous success, as we raised over $12,000 for our ministry needs. Through your continued support throughout 2018, we were able to complete needed renovations due to structural damage sustained from a devastating earthquake in 2016.  We were also able to build a fish farm and hatchery to begin raising and harvesting fish. This has been added to the sheep, goats and chickens / ducks and their eggs which are currently harvested, as well as a wide variety of fruits and vegetables grown on the property.  All these farming efforts help the ministry to be self-sustaining; while teaching our children entrepreneurial skills. Hope Primary Boarding School continues to host approximately 150 children from grades P1 to P7 (1st-7th Grade).  Through your faithful sponsorship of the children ( $35 per child / month) we are able to provide a sound Christian education, life skills, medical care, food, clothing and housing.  The farming and animal husbandry skills enable us to supply the children with much needed nutrition and a variety in their diet. This year, we have also been able to successfully complete some of our outstanding projects such as classroom and dormitory improvements, while updating our pit latrines.  In additional a well has also been added, as there is no public available water. We are grateful for all of our sponsors /supporters of AROAD such as yourself.  This short note will serve to apprise you of the progress that your financial and prayer support is appreciated. Accordingly, we want you to know what a blessing you have been in helping to meet the needs of this ministry in rural Uganda. Remember 100 percent of your donations go directly to AROAD.
